How 2 apply 2 US univs...detailed process

Materials required to apply for American universities:

1) Online application/ Printed application of the university:
• First of all one need to fill up an online application in universities website. Some of the univs have only printed application which u can download from University’s website.

2) Recommendation letters (from 3 lectures) - one letter form each lecturer.
• Most of the universities ask you recommendation letters from 2 or 3 lectures of your college. Recommendation letter should be printed or hand written statement about the student from his lecturer on the college letter head.

3) GRE/TOEFL Scores:
• Most of the univs ask both GRE and TOEFL scores but a few are exception which asks for only TOEFL.U can apply for universities before taking the GRE/TOEFL tests. After sending the materials to the university u can take the tests.
• U need to send the GRE/TOEFL scores to the univs though ETS.

4) Transcripts-2 sets/ Degree certificates+10th standard and 12th standard attested copies:
• Transcript from your under graduation (3 or 4 yrs level study) or other degree transcripts.
• If you are still pursuing your under graduation send the transcripts available till your current completed semester. Also you have to take a bonafide certificates stating that your term of education.
Most of the univs ask 2 sets of transcripts…..some ask only one set.
• SSC/10th standard and +2 level certificate attested copies.

5) Resume and SOP (Statement of Purpose)
• Give a well written SOP and resume which will depict your interest for your Graduate studies and your personal profile from your childhood.
6) Bank statement:
• U need to submit a bank statement form a bank official which states that you or one of your parents have the required amount of bank balance.(Normally around 15 to 20 lacks )

7) Affidavit:
• An Affidavit is required stating that you or your parents will support your studies financially at the university.
• U can get an affidavit from a lawyer or any court

8) Study certificate or Job experience certificate:
• If you are in student status or you are employed u need to submit a letter form your college or your employer.
9) Copies and proofs of all your other activities(Ex. Paper presentations, Your organizing skills in your symposiums etc.)
10)Photo Copies of first and last pages of your passport
